Rear subframe Q's
My sub frame bushings were pretty garbage and I installed the aluminum spacers (not the collars) over a year ago. The subframe is now starting to clunk again, and upon inspection it seems the stock bushings are just plain toast now.
Would replacing the single spacer with a set of poly collars be enough to tighten the subframe back up even though the stock bushings have been compressed and mangled to crap, or should I just replace all the OEM subrame bushings? And if I do the latter, the ES poly bushings for the z32 rear subframe are a direct fit in the 240 subframe, correct? Thanks for the help.

damn, this is why i wanna drop my subframe and install new bushings while the motor is out, i had a feeling these spacers wouldnt last forever, my bushings look pretty damn nasty too. Id say replace all the bushings with some poly or solid ones

id say not to waste ur money and effort on poly ones. go for solid. they do project a little more sound into the cab though, but nothing too bad. just pretty much get the subframe off, stick a sawz all in the center and cut to the side of it. Then pound it out with an air hammer.

you have the SPL complete solid spacers, or the drop-in ones?? If the drop-in 4-piece or 8-piece? I have the 8-piece ones. They squeezed the rubber junk out, so next i'm going to go ahead and burn out what remains then toss them back in for metal-metal contact.
