I have lowered my car with springs, 2.0-rear, 1.8-front. How long do i have before the stock struts and shocks go out? and which should i replace first? and what happens if i just don't replace at all, just a bad ride? or will it just fall apart? thanks for any replies

well fill us in on the year of your car, mileage, what you plan to do with your 240? Nonetheless anything lower than 1.25" I'd be looking to get some better shocks to mate with those performance springs. hell, I had my stock ones go out within a week on a 1..25" drop on my old car.
You'll know when they go out, I had this very disturbing "shock knock" everytime I hit a bump, sounded like the shocks were going through trunk back there.
now give us some info!

As for which to do first, I would say that the fronts are more critical, but both should be done as soon as funds become avaliable. This isn't just a performance issue, this is a saftey issue. Those shocks cannot do what you are asking them to do. You risk loosing control of your car at a very bad time. I don't know how you drive, but I am guessing since you posted here there is a good chance that you drive fast. In that case, stock shocks are a hazard to your health and the well being of any other near-by car. Please, for your sake and the sake of others, change them as soon as possible.

It's a 95 S14 with 100K miles. I don't plan on doing much in the near future, im a poor college student. I just have the regular bolt-ons and plan on new rims and tires, thats it for now. So the shocks should come before the struts? About how much are new shocks, and which are the best? Thanks

Well you have struts up front and shocks in the rear. I would say the struts are more important to replace for performance, but the rear shocks will blow first so in your case if you MUST do them separate, do the shocks first.
