Sr20 Spiking Boost To 1.5 Bar...

alright, today after some drifting my sr20 is boosting at 1.5.. usually boosts around .5. i checked all my vacuum lines, and the wastegate actuator is getting plenty of vacuum.. ive checked almost everything, and its really pissing me off because i dont want to blow my HG, or lean out..

any ideas? (serious advice please)

SOmebody just posted bout this. Make sure ur line is connected before the Throttlebody. You need pressure to open the wastegate...not vacuum.

what should the wastegate be connected to? an intercooler pipe? how come stock SR's have the wastegate line going straight to the throttle body?

thanks

if you know what a wastegate does, then you wouldn't need to ask where it goes because it wouldn't be on your intercooler piping.

take a look at some pictures and see where almost EVERYONE has their wastegate

im not saying that the wastegate is on the intercooler piping! lol

im saying there is a fitting threaded into my hotpipe where a vacuum line was that went into the actuator.. i thought that was the reason i kept getting compressor surge, so i re-routed the vacuum into the throttle body, and thats when the spiking started happening. i put everything backthe way it was, and its still spiking HIGH.

K...stock do hook up to the throttle body cuz if i remember, theres a total of 3 nipples on the throttle body for vacuum. 2 of them is actually fed behind the plate and one is before the plate. the one before the plate is the one that attaches to the wastegate. How can you tell which one is which? When you put ur finger on it and the plates close, theres nothing there. The other 2 will have a vacuum and u can fill it suck.

So if your using the throttle body for ur wastegate, find the RIGHT NIPPLE. It should be the bottom one IIRC...the 2 nipple on top are the vacuum.

hooked it up to the right nipple.. still spiking. im pretty sure my wastegate is just stuck shut, because it also started compressor surging really loud.. what should i do?

did you search? I just had this same problem. Look like 2-3 pages back. Its listed "stock t25 actuator. Boosts 1.2 bar" Look and you'll see it.

sounds like the perfect time to get HKS actuators...fixes your problem and can act like a boost controller too.

A friend, just last week had the same problem.
It started a week after boost war raised to .9 bar.
We replaced stock WG with one I had laying around from a blown turbo
and boost came down to spec.
