so there is a 90 240 that i want. been sitting on side of some back road for nearly a month...i think its private property so that being the reason it hasnt been towed. and obviosly owner wants nothing to do with it. body looks great no rust no dents. Anybody know if there is any way to find out who owner is by VIN or Plates?

Take the info to the DMV, see what they can tell you.

Grab the vin and plate numbers then go to the DMV. Then they will have you either contact the property owner that the car resides on or wait a period of time of which then they will issue you an abandoned title. After that you have to register, and pay whatever latefee's the car has then the car is yours if memory serves me correctly.

we'll its hard to say if its private property but i figured it was since damn thing has been there so long. it lil off to the side of the road . there is a construction site not far from it which may be same land car is parked on but is hard to tell.
so you think its legal to obtain owner info if i go to teh DMV? i thought they wouldnt give release taht info for some sort or privacy thing. |

Only one way to find out for sure. Go ask them!
If they can't give you any info, trying leaving a note on the car for the owner to call you or something.

Tow-truck.
Haha just kidding. My friend was in the same position you are in. It was a 91 CRX though. He left a note on it and the owner called him. He gave it to my friend for free. |

Just ask whoever lives closest to the "private property".
if they dont know anything, just write down the info, take it to the dmv, pay a small fee and whoo hoo you got your info. run a carfax report while you're at it. |
