stemming from the depression thread, looks like there are a few of us out there. Just wanted to see who else is a Christian on here.

I was baptised as a child....I'm now 19, and I've been agnostic ever since I started to mature mentally - probably age 14~15 beginning of high school.
(Sorry, probably not the reply you were hoping for, huh?)

Long story short,I was catholic, went out with this chick, she got me heavily into biblical studying and shit. Big BIG ministery, with a good and bad rap,I loved it. Starting loosing interest, then the bitch got me fired at ccity,by that point I just kind of lost interest. Besides, the majority of churchs/minesteries that I've checked out or whatever say once your saved, your saved.

I don't see any exceptions in Romans 10:9,10 that says "you shall be saved, les ye....." or "you shall be saved, but if you ..."

I used to believe that until I found this scripture which is kind of scary:

Hebrews 6:4-6

It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.

I got baptized in water almost 6 years ago because I personally believe that it's the way to be saved (No offense to those who are not Christian) but in no way is it a free ride. The Bible has some tough standards and if you really want to be a Christian you have to be convicted by the whole book. That's why I decided to TRY and stop worrying about the faults of others and start worrying about fixing my own. Oh, I still mess up, BIG time. But the best thing about the Bible is grace and forgiveness if you repent

all that stuff about jesus... yeah, its lies. i'm jewish but dont follow it closely or anything. jesus was a jew and was killed. the people needed something to rally the people/gain power and thats how all the Christianity bs started. 99% of religion in any form is bs to get people to have moral obligations and to follow rules. the only real part of religion is the belief in a higher being and stuff.

but... if you believe it then its real and its true.

I've been saved since I was 5yrs old. I was priveleged enough to be raised in a Christian home. I went the way of the prodigal son but thank the Lord I've recently seen the error in my ways. You know it's funny but knowing the Lord has helped me get through some rough times..I don't know how the rest of you do it w/o Him, b/c no matter how bad things get I know that I am never alone. Good thread, nice to see that there are believers out there still. And for who ever posted before about your salvation(i think it was GhettoKracker), your right that you can't lose it but don't think that the Lord won't get your attention somehow, and as far as the church and the ministries being a crock, its unfortunate but true that alot of them are garbage, but as my pastor once told the church(and he was quoting the apostle Paul) 'Follow me as I follow the Lord' in basic terms it means that you should only follow a church, ministry, or pastor if they are following in the ways of the Lord, and the second that they don't drop them like a bad habit.

its funny listening to diehard christians preach and talk about salvation and all that good stuff. i find it rather amusing how literal people take this shit. HOWEVER, if you believe it, then you believe it, i just hate when people preach it to others/try and get them to convert. god exists to you if you believe in it. however, realists recognize that science explains everything... take for instance Genesis or basically anything that was supposedly done by god or jesus.

I don't want to turn this into a battle, I don't think that's the reason for this thread...however u'r problem seems to stem from one thing, you look to people and not God.

I am keeping a close eye on this Thread. Religious discussions, much like political discussions, have a tendancy to get ugly fast. As long as everyone stays civil, this thread will stay open. First individual to try to pick a fight over this will be Pinked. I will not Pink you for saying you are/aren't a Christian. I will Pink you for turning this thread into a fight, rather then a discussion.

Allrighty. We're going to start a new trend on Zilvia. It's called "Don't post unless you have something on-topic to say" with a sidegame of "If you feel your post may be offensive, keep it to your fucking self in sensitive threads."

M0rex, JCB890, I know that you are going to read this post, and this is your warning. M0rex - I can't recall you posting just to start shit, so stop. JCB890 - I will pink your ass for starting shit intentionally if I ever see this again!

If you aren't christian - don't fucking post. If you'd like to say you're aethist, say so, don't imply that one religion is screwed up or yours is better.
This is a sensitive topic, and having given this warning, I'm not going to hold back on pinking and banning those who fail to abide by this.

To each his own. +1 for disliking people forcing their own views and beliefs on others. I've lost friends because they've wanted to push me over the issue.

Agnostic BTW.. I'm a very scientific theory kinda guy.. if I can touch it...

Yea.. everyone comes from different upraisings.. and cultures.. but to everyone whom believes in one form of religion or belief more power to them.. I was raised as a Christain... or Presbyterian.. =) but i havnet gone to church is yrs... But I still believe in the great man/women/higher being upstairs.. I never doubt that he isn't there.. but sometimes I question... for instance... When I lost friend(s) and they passed away.. but you cant really blame that on anyone...

All im saying is... respect is the key when it comes to such subjects as these.. and IMO.. I'm glad that I was shown the way of God when I was young.. to understand where it comes from... and when you grow older.. from experience from living.. u see and can relate certian things from what u learned... but Im not like "die hard" about it.. nor do I thing how ppl go door to door to convert.. or presure people about the subject right.. I actually think thats what turns most ppl away from it.. Its such a crucial subject that cant be drilled into minds... But I also believe in charma.. and intangible things like that..

Final Thoughts: In Jesus's name we pray.. Amen
