not really,i just bought the engine and the guy sent me a video file of it running.i was thinking that it may be a sticking lifter because it does it only when it is first fired up,after it gets warm it smooths out.and the engine runs a little ruff when it is cold also.

if it is the timing chain guides, then you should probably just get a timing chain kit....i had a slapping sound when i would first start up my car....found out...it was my timing chain guide...it broke, and was sitting in my oilpan.

Pull your valve cover and check the timingchain and guides, check the lifters too, if you rotate the cam till the valves are closed you can feel each rocker arm to see if there is to much play.

No, Hit the serch for factory service manual, down load the single slammer. I have a dohc motor (kade) and manual, I swaped the sohc motor out, I didn't have much intrest in it sorry.
I just serched and found this link, check it out. The hydrolic lifters don't ajust, so if you have slack then it is shot and you need new ones, hope this helps. http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.p...ydrolic+lifter |
