I have a 93 s13 fastback with HICAS and i am planning on doing the sr swap down the road, I know me and everyone else with a 240, but right now i have about half of the money saved for it...anyhow i was wondering if I will have to disable HICAS when I do the swap or if it wont be a problem. Has anyone else with HICAS done the swap? Thanks.

P.S. I tried to search but it gave me an error message

Wow that was a dumb mistake...

hey 240dori... i also have a 93 with hicas and is in the shop as we speak dropping an sr... all you would need is a hicas rod lock... runs about 120-250 depending on your hook-ups... kinda hard to find here in the states... its usually special order from japan... good luck

"rod lock"??

actually you just need to get an SR with a HICAS power steering pump, or adapt your existing pump.

everything else should work the same.

first off... u probably have a better chance of winning the lotto than to find an equipped hicas sr (i have been looking for quite some time now) second of all having hicas isnt the best thing, if i had a choice i wouldnt want my car to be hicas equipped but the price i got it for was too good to pass. The "hicas lock" was made purposely due to the fact that the rear end gets tail happy most of the time on hard cornering and for drifting purposes. This is my 4th 240 and comparing to the other 3 without hicas, i would difinitely choose no hicas.

There are a few around. Only the pump and bracket are different anyway... which is why I added "...or adapt your existing pump".
