Let me help you please. I prefer english

"As the title states, I am trying to figure out if it is possible to put ABS brake rotors onto a non ABS 240sx. This is a 1989 240sx. Also, will the fitment and performance be equal to that of the non ABS rotors?"

Sorry for my little bit of a thread jack here.....

But I'm just wondering cause I actually just called about getting new rotors (for an ABS 240)... and was quoted two different prices. One, higher price, for ABS, and another (lower) for non-ABS. Are you saying I could just buy the cheaper, non-ABS rotors, and they will still work?

^now i know from all my days lurking around here that you know your shit, but from the days work back at the parts store I know they are not the same and autozone, advanced both show different part numbers for ABS and nonABS cars as well as brembo.

If I remember right the non ABS were like .8 inch larger in size. maybe it was just a half inch...either way the ABS model used the same stuff as the altima which had the slightly larger rotor to go along with the larger single piston caliper.

i'm actually on my way out to the store now, i'll check the bremo catalog to see the actual difference is sizes.

no, 89-94 ABS / non-ABS rotors are not the same. The parts store gave me the ABS rotors once and I had non-ABS, and the rotors rubbed the calipers like crazy. You have to cut away a bit of the clip in order for the rotor to fit, but its a pain. Get the right rotors and save yourself the hassle.

s13 Chuki ABS rotors are 257x22
s13 chuki NON-ABS rotors are 252x20

the front pads and calipers are also different. rears are the same across the board.

i don't know if this applies to the zenki s13 also but i would assume so.

the reason your s14 rotors worked is because all s14 rotors are the same as the s13 non abs equipment, 252x20.

Kouki S14 rotors are larger. I know because I just had a set machined to fit inside my non-ABS S13 calipers.

I'll be damned. I knew the 97-98s were larger, figured it was just a changeover for the late S14s, so my deduction was the S13s should all be the same. I stand corrected.

yea sorry never got back home last night to post up specs from the brembo catalog but the difference is:

9.92 (252mm) without ABS
10.1 (257mm) with ABS

the min thicknesses are also different at

18mm for non ABS
20 with ABS

overall height which is bascially mesasuring the offset or full rotor and tophat hight is the same on both.

non ABS rotors are only used on the 240sx while the ABS ones are used on G20s, ABS 240sx's, Sentra's, and Stanza's.

we have already established they are not the same...but is the 5mm difference in diameter too much of a difference so that they rub the caliper?
