hey guys i was wondering if the SR20DET will pass emissions! we have something a bit more leanent than the cali system up here in toronto and anyone that oculd help me out, i would really appreciate it! i was thinking maybe a way to open the waste gate earlier or put some temporary pre-cats on the car for cold start.. if you guys could just tell me what part of the engine pollutes the most so that i can fix it, thanks!

also should i jsut tel them its a KA24E? im sure they dont know the difference and if they do, they would have enough respect for it to just let it pass.

Thanks again guys

Well seeing as I know these guys personally, I'll just call in a favor and get you squared away.

It all depends on the shop. Techincally it won't pass since it was never DOT approved (does that still apply in Canada?). Use the search and look. This comes up often.

If you have an S13 there's no obd so there's no reason for them to pop your hood. I would disconnect the hood release just in case. If they ask say it's broken and you're too poor to fix it.

Does your state test for nitrates? You might need to have your charcoal canister hooked up to pass that.

I've heard of a couple lightly modded SR's passing emiision in Cali and i know of several here in AZ that have passed with stock boost and stock exhaust. Can't help you with what will make it cleaner running, but it can be done!
