gauge temp sensor

recently bougth a s14 with redtop and the temp gauge goes to half way abotu 10sec after i startt he car and read max while driving but no over heating problems/ i tried changing the temp sensor with a new one made for doch ka but same problem anyone know what wrong?

Probably the gauge or a wiring problem. Go aftermarket.

Check/add grounds, maybe? Usually bad grounds will make the needle bounce around, though.

You need the S14 water temp sensor off your KA. The SR water temp gauge sensor has a different voltage signal. Go to the dealer and get it for whatever year your chassis is and swap the SR one out.

Just incase your not sure which sensor it is, look a bit above the thermostat area. Look at your wiring by the FPR and follow it, should go to 2 sensors. Swap the one on the right side.
