Oil Filled in Sparkplug Hole

i put oil in my car earlier because it was low. now a couple hours later after driving and then parking it for the day i come back outside to move my car and its mis-firing like a machine gun. i go to check my spark plugs and when i pull the wires only cylinder 1 sparkplug hole is filled with so much oil i cant even see the spark plug! im going to check my valve cover gasket because im thinking it may be causing the leak. if thats not the case anyone have any ideas?

valve cover gasket leaking, or you spilled oil down there.

worse case, cracked head. unlikely.

it's most likely your spark plug tube seals leaking. I'm not sure what motor you have but sometimes they are part of the valve cover seal, sometimes not. Just pull the valve cover and replace the four circular seals around the spark plug tube holes and replace the valve cover while you're at it.

there is a sparkplug gasket that you usually change with the valvecover gasket.
