![]() Hey you guys told me i recently posted a thread about if a manual s13 tranny can fit into a automatic s14 and everyone said that it does because the tranny for s13 and s14 are the same. I was wondering if the 1989 S13 tranny will also counts/works for a s14 swap. thanks

If i am understanding you right, you have an auto and plan on going 5spd when you do the swap? If so, just get a front clip. It will come with everything you need to do the swap minus the drive shaft which can be had at your local junk yard for under $100. This would be much easier and cost effective than trying to piece everything together. You will always find your self going back to the salvage yard for more misc pieces if you dont get a clip.
As far as the trannies being the same. Last night i took apart both a S13 and S14 tranny. The forks on the inside of the S13 tranny are actually a little different. Also, the Speed sensor is different and i am not sure if they are interchangeable. But if you are getting a SR then it should come with a tranny (with the right sensors of course). I cant really say which tranny looked stronger (s13 or S14) all i can say is that they are internally different in a few ways. Guess i will just have to beat on this one for a while and see how it holds up.

yes a S13 tranny would fit in a S14 the only thing you would need to change is the speed sensor and remove the collar off the rear so the S13 manual drivesaft would clear. You cannot use a S14 driveshaft . If you are doing a SR swap then you get your driveshaft with the clip.
Also I have no idea why anyone would put a S13 tranny in a S14 usually the mileage of the S13 trans is higher. Or of course they arer putting in a S13 SR which would most likely be lower mileage.
