Car Doesn't Start After Being In The Sun
Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem I've been having. Whenever I park my car in the sun or on a really hot day, it wont start. It will hesitate to start and then I'll have to sit and wait a little bit and then it'll start, sometimes.
The engine doesn't crank at all, it's as if the battery was dead but all the electronics work, the windows, radio and lights work. If I let the car cool down or it becomes night time it'll start up normally like nothing happened. This is on a 1996 240sx, hopefully someone knows what could be wrong! thanks in advance.

My car was having the same problem.
There are only a handful of big things that can be wrong with it. Check the small stuff first, no loose connections to the battery or at the starter. make sure your battery terminals are tight. I'm sure your battery is fully charged and fine. Check your clutch relay. Sometimes they go bad. Lastly, your starter might be bad. I replaced everything before I singled out the starter. I had a new batt, new terminals, new clutch relay and it still wouldn't start sometimes. A new starter fixed alllll my problems. IT IS SO NICE FOR YOUR CAR TO START WHEN YOU WANT IT TO. |
