s13 Kyb Gr2 w/Eibach Sportline Springs Question

I got a question maybe you guys can help out w/ im thinking about putting Eibach Sportline Springs w/ KYB Gr2 shocks, will it blow the shocks out at a fast rate? How reliable a set-up this is for my s13? I already have the shocks, if these springs aren't as reliable what springs do you guys recommend this is for a daily driven set-up. Thanks for your time.

My friend been rockin gr-2 sportline setup for 2 years now. His shocks are goin out and he never seen a track day or much abuse. Unless you are just lookin for a cheap quick temporary setup then its coo. But like other have said just save for coilovers. Godspeed or megan its better than rockin a gr-2. If you can afford it go koni yellow/ground control

gr-2 is an oem like replacement.

Don't buy them thinking they are any better than stock.

AGX's are the sportier version of them.

Or get koni yellows.

Fyi, just because the car isn't tracked doesn't mean the car isn't seeing abuse.

Everyday stop and go driving is worse than tracking a car mechanically wise.

The mean streets are harsh, you dig it?

I had that same set up. Nothing wrong with them. They lasted for 2 years or so. They were in good condition still. So I sold them. lol

i had this set up on my s13 about 2 years ago. it sucked the rear gr2s blew within a year of installing them from daily driving! stay away from that combo. i recomend you get somthing that doesnt drop the car that much if your running gr2 you might be able to get away with tien s techs or eibach pro kit.

If you do end up getting these make sure you put the bump stops and new dust boots back on. You can trim the bump stops down a little too. That stuff is there for a reason and most likely the reason for the shocks failing so quickly.

i replaced everything the fact is you are trying to put springs on an oem replacement that wasnt design for that kind of use. gr2 will eventally blow on anything with more than a 1.5 inch drop its only a matter of time and how good the road are near you.

i would or get stechs or a prokit. the difference between coilovers and gr2 and sportlines is really night and day.

The spring choice is your problem. The Sportlines lower the car more but are not as stiff, therefore giving you a little more bounce. With the added reduction of lowering the strut/shock setup can't work within it's means as well. Prokits or similar stiffer spring would be a better choice.

Yeah I had that for my first set up and it drops the car a little the sportlines were okay not the best obviously but My biggest regret was wasting the money and not just getting coils overs from the begging. as for the shocks like everyone has stated they are like stock no big difference maybe just a little stiffer and they took awhile before they start to sag Good luck tho =]
