2.25/3" test pipes?

I can not find anyone or anywhere that makes custom test pipes, I have a stock exhaust manifold and a 3" catback exhaust...obviously it doesnt mate up and i just need to know if anyone knows of somewhere that does custom test pipes. Local places just look at me all crazy and said they could figure something out for $300....yea

Why get some custom shit made up when your 3" exhaust will seal just fine on a stock cat or a 2.5" test pipe?

Well its bolted up to the stock cat, new gasket and still leaking.

I bought mine off ebay for 30$ shipped, 3" fits perfect.

Just installed my 3" exhaust today to, fits great.

OP, the new gasket is the problem. You need the metal OEM gasket. Most after market gaskets wont be large enough on the OD side to complete a seal.

A 2.5 to 3" you either need an OEM nissan exhaust gasket (got mine from FRsport), or a 3" exhaust gasket (frsport).

Ive tried about 4 different autozone/checker/oreillys gaskets. All still leaked.

The OEM 2.5" gasket is ALOT larger than a normal 2.5" 2 bolt gasket.

In my opinion, the 2-bolt gasket is going to be a problem now or later.

As Bigsyke said, you need to hit up FRsport/Courtesy/WestCovina/Performance for the OEM gasket, or get a aftermarket 3" gasket to keep your current system from leaking.

But really, all 2 bolt gaskets leak when you're talking about 3" stuff - Nissan's got to be the only company using big 2bolt gaskets - everyone else uses 3bolt... that's why when I had my system custom made (at a local well known exhaust shop), we used all 3bolt gaskets - and guess what? They don't leak, even after some track days/lots of mileage.

eh personally id just get some 3" pipe welded in place of the cat, some places might do it, some prolly wont...just a matter of asking them and telling then ur not gonna say anything since it is illegal for them to do it....hole in the wall places are the best.

because ive dealt with test pipes before with the whole 2 bolt flanges and gaskets, and with how low the car is, any little thing that would hit it would loosen the bolts and or tear the gasket causing a leak...which = more money

save urself the headache and just get a pipe welded in place of the cat rather than bolted on

Use a 2.5" gasket, NOT a 3" gasket. Also use a small amount of "copper" silicone on either side of the gasket to ensure a good seal. The copper silicone is designed to work at temps of 700* so it will not burn off once it dries.

Perfect, Ill order the OEM from FRSport right now. Ill get a pipe off ebay later on and what not. I just want the leak gone for now before spring comes around.

Ive used hondabond with better results than permatex copper. Permatex Grey is the same as hondabond, and had held better than permatex copper when used near the exhaust manifold.

Also myself and others have fix our leak issues with the 3" gasket over the 2.5" because usually the 2.5"s outter diameter is smaler than the 3"; thats where the OEM exhaust gasket from FRsports comes to save the day, its a 2.5" ID opening, with a MUCH larger sized OD - for mating a 2.25-2.5 to a 3"

In all honesty, it would be WELL worth the cost to make a 2.5" to Flex to 3" [test pipe].

Not only would this eliminate any leaks, but relieve a shit ton of stress on manifold/studs and piping.
