I love this look so much. Im still having the worst time comprehending offset ideas, all things into account like clearing fenders/calipers/arms/coils without too much rolling pulling. I get that higher offset is further from center line or negative closer and so forth. Say i use this set up on an s13 coupe, 18x9.5 on all fours 245/35/18 F - 255/40/18 B. Getting to the point, would running a fair offset like +10 or so keep it flush upfront and in back? I've been using this http://www.rims-n-tires.com/info_specs.jsp to help visualize i still cant clear it up in my head haha

That guy was a total dickwad, he would completly cut across every corner to stay on my ass when I was already going slow due to traffic. I could hear him spin his one tire every turn too. I dont know about you guys but I dislike having a 6000lb truck tailgating me on a twisted mountain road.

I really want to shoot that fucking idiot in the face. He was a local too, so he should of known better. Just thinking about it totally pisses me off.

It took all of 1 turn to loose the jerkoff when the road was clear though.

doesnt solve much but its the jersey way of doing things... that and pulling up next to someone and yelling at them. some people shouldnt be allowed to drive.

arabtitalator:
im running 245/40/17 upfront on an s13 and ur concern shouldnt be so much being flush on the outside as rubbing on the inside. 17x9+22 currently w/ 1-2mm clearance between the wheel and the lower spring perch on the coilover.

i got some 18x9 +22 and 18x10+25 advan rg2's just trying to get some opinions on tire sizes, i was thinkin about 275/35 and 295/35 think those will sit good on a stock fender s14? slight roll in the back, and lip pounded flat up front, also the car is really low.

I'll plug this application again because it's so damn useful: aftermarket wheels - 1000RIMS

Looking at your width/offset for the front, I'd recommend nothing larger than a 255/35 in front if you are planning on using stock fenders with a roll, acceptable camber, clearing your suspension, and having next to no rubbing issues with the fender well. My personal experience with an 18x10 et+7 using a 255/35 was horrible...had to pull the fronts about an inch to make it look right, fender buckled blah blah so starting over right this time. I know gsracer had 18x10 +18 with a 275/35 at one point, so maybe he could chime in on that fitment.

For the rear, I know from experience an 18x10 +23 with 255/35 cleared with room to spare with a roll/1 inch pull. However, you are planning on running a 295/35, so you'd have to do at least that to make it look right. I think with a small pull you'd have it looking perfect. Some people frown on a tire stagger that far apart in width (255/295) but I think you'd be okay especially if you are making good power...may have some understeer, so you could dial in minimal toe out/zero toe to avoid that. That may make it more twitchy though, especially in a straight line. What's your purpose for the S14?

its gonna be daily driven, but i will do a lot of grip driving with it as well (road course, auto x, and a lot of nice mountain driving). i am going to be making a good amount of power, running a twin scroll 3076, has a kaaz 1.5 way diff. all your info was good tho, i appreciate it.

TIRES:
Kumho Ecsta 225/55/R17 all around

Depending on where you're rubbing the 234/45s might actually give you a bit more clearance than the 225/55s because of the lower aspect ratio. The way I figure out max offset with rubbing is to stack big washers on the lug nuts until I just barely have the clearance I need. Measure your washer stack with a calliper and order the spacers you need. Just make sure that your have at least 9 threads of engagement, or order longer studs. I have 255/45/17 on my 17x9 halibrands up front, and your KYBs actually have MORE clearance than my Ohlins!

A 225/55/17 is WAY too tall for any s-chassis.
A 235/40/17 is ideal for a 17x9 +20, and onyl requires a few (2-3)mm spacers in the front to clear some coilovers, so you wont even need to change studs or use bolt on spacers. Some coilovers dont even need a spacer with this size.

Both 225/55 and 235/45 are way too tall.

Front : 17x9 +22 + 5mm spacer so effective +17mm
Rear : 17x10 +22

I need to get some pictures of inner clearance and some better of the flushness, also I haven't had an alignment in a couple years and I've changed the suspension around twice now. I would imagine everything is close to being in factory spec.

To answer your question the miata is running work ewings, 15x7 with a 205/50/15 azenis. A buddy of mine, has a heavily modded stock na motor miata, lucky if it could break 100whp. Luckily he's finally decided to boost it this winter.

Thanks Rick see you saturday, and good luck in the marathon!

I've been running 255-40 tires out back for over 2 years now. I have pulled fenders since my rear offset is sorta low and the rear tires are slightly stretched but its nothing serious. But you shouldnt have any problems on R33 wheels I dont think. I'd run 255-40's though if it were up to me since there are better tire options in that size. Your going to have to pull the rear fenders, there is no reason not to. Its stupid if you dont.

I run 255-40-17 NT05's on all 4 corners now.

Look up at the top of the page this page and you'll see new pictures of the car.
