Simone Video Blog - Boost Gauge Readings on Vimeo

hooked up a boost gauge for some readings, that's what I got right there.

also put in the older coil pack, car still runs the same. The only difference is the model number on the newer coil pack is 01 at the end of the serial number instead of 0 like the other 4 I have.

The model number is exactly the same on them, so I really doubt that matters at all.

Tightened down the alternator tensioner today, hopefully it doesn't come loose again. I will need to find a nut or something to thread on the other side of the adjustment bolt to keep it in place since it's vibrating loose.

In regard to your vacuum gauge showing -20, that's perfect. YOu're pulling that much vacuum, which is right on the money for your engine. Zero indicated the point where you begin to go out of vacuum, and into boost. If your vacuum was pulling persay, around 10...then you'd have a cam/mechanical timing issue, but that's not the case.

However I can't believe how much boost it's making just by free revving the engine...either it's been so long since I've paid attention to that aspect, or any car i've ever tinkered with hasn't done that. Hell with my baby launch control the car makes 4-5 psi...and you're making 7 just free reving! Either that's common and I never realized it, or something else is wacky.

my car maybe has a special t25 or all of the oil sitting in it is helping it spin faster haha j/k. I'm trying to put on my wheel spacers now, I for some reason thought it was easy to take off the rear brake disc, apparently I was mistaken and it's rusted on there.

waiting on FRSport to see if I can exchange these items... from what it looks like I ordered the ones for the front hubs instead of the rears.

http://om1kron.blogspot.com/2010/01/...lspacecom.html

cause these aren't going to fit in my hubs. And now my car is in pieces.

yeah thats right, 20 is great for vac.

but im also with u Cody as i dont think my motor will make boost just reving. it needs a load to spool. but im not running a t25. mayb a smaller turbo will spool w/ no load? someone please chime in

Ah yes, Knurl size on S14's are different front to rear. I ended up buying ARP front studs (from a Mustang iirc) and Moroso rear studs (from a camaro iirc). A quick search should show you which ones to use...I'll check my jegs receipts later to see for sure...goin out here in a sec.

Hmmm, sounds like a super lean mix?? That would explain the missing up top? Not sure. Do you have a wideband? I cant see the vid at work.

When my car was blowing out spark I was making like 5psi free revving as well. That much boost without load is not normal.

It's plausible...gotta think, if the unburnt fuel is exploding in the manifold, it will create boost (like a two step by msitake)...but he said he's been able to free rev and drive to redline...daaaarn

We need to get a "K"alifornia Zilvia guy down there to get a consult on the car sapsap!

ugh, looks like i'm going to have to drive down to frsport tomorrow to resolve this wheel spacer shit.

I thought it was going to be a wham bam thank you man thing but obviously the person handling their email inquiries is not the person handling their aim account. I also ordered some hawk hps pads for my rear brakes, I didn't realize that screeching noise was the rear brakes.

Thought it was my fronts since bbk's screech when cold.

What a glorious day, so after an aim conversation and confusion in email, I decide to drive down to frsport today to handle my item echange... lets just say I will stick to having items shipped from them to me. It cost probably 20 dollars in gas alone round trip in traffic just to get to them, not to mention the 2 hours of traffic I hit on the way back home.

On the way I stopped and dropped off my rotors for a resurface since I got new pads on the way... from frsport.

figure I'll knock everything out at once.

So far the threading the knurls or shanks into the hubs is a bitch. I thought I would be smart and put the brake hub back on and double up on the spacers, but my lug nuts are tapered so they just burrowed into the spacer.

=/

I gave up on that for now after getting 5 in 80 percent of the way and will figure out how to finalize it tomorrow. otherwise they're just going to be in 80 percent of the way, I don't want to snap any of them by trying to pull them into their seat since they should've been pressed in, in the first place.

Then my roommate tells me someone wants to buy the oj bronco, hella bros show up with a fucking monster truck with a turbo that sounded like it raped babies for a living.

after pushing the bronco out in the street, some words were exchanged, and I think my roommate didn't want to get rid of the non running car afterall. and we pushed it back into my driveway.

FML...

anyway, think my rear pads needed replacing? I think I could've put about 10k more on those pads, they don't even do any work anyway. The screeching just got annoying.

stock on the left, hawk hps on the right.

Also I figured this would be a good idea, VHT high temp caliper paint to paint those ugly ass rusty rotor hats, and also painted the spacers. I didn't need red wheels, silver spacers, and rusty hub as my rear wheel outlook. Fuck painting the calipers, this is good enough for me.

enjoy the little things.

OP, Cody, & Kouki. My Redtop runs -20 vacuum at idle, -23-25 while cruising under no load, and my turbo (stock T25) will not build boost free-revving under no load. I tried it when I swapped out the stock turbo elbow for a Megan one. I wanted to hear what the SR sounded like open DP.

then I obviously have a fuel problem... I want to have the injectors rebalanced at RC when I get a chance and also have them run through a diagnostic to make sure they're not leaking.

No, no gauges. when I was working I was going to buy a racepak meter and various sensors instead of having my car full of 1000 dollars worth of little circular pods.

See, that's normal to me....having a car build boost like Wayne's is rediculous just free reving...but it's been so long since I've played with a t25 car that I forgot haha.

but i guess i've had a fuel problem for quite some time, it happened after I stored the car it started running like this.

im with you here on the fuel problem. do u have a FPR or pres guage?(srry i forget even tho i have read ur whole build lol)

No, no gauges. when I was working I was going to buy a racepak meter and various sensors instead of having my car full of 1000 dollars worth of little circular pods.

I'm hoping you do the racepak cause I was planning on going the same route, I'd like to see how easy the install is.

Simone : My 1996 240sx: @ Shadow works.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49p3v-8wQHU

my timing was off by 33 degree's, once corrected the car was barely drivable on the way home. I'm depressed a bit since I'm moving and I don't really have any money at all to fix this car.

Fuck you economy.
