Who is using an Exedy Clutch
I've seen some Exedy Organic clutches on Ebay for $120 shipped. Has anyone here used these? What do you think about it?
Anyone running these on a KA-T? |

Yeah, I'm using one on my stock KA24DE. I'd have to say that even though I drive like a 90 year old, the Exedy clutch feels WEAK. I've got about 4,000 miles on mine right now and I think it won't last another 4k. I don't regret it though because the clutch is really really smooth and doesn't chatter at all so it suits my relaxed driving style. If, however, you want to do smokey burn outs all day long, the Exedy unit will probably start smokin' before the rears do

I just installed mine today. It does feels a little weak than the stock one I had. I just got this one for now anyway, don't plan on keeping it that long. I haven't had any problems with it yet, so as long as it does it's job till I get my motor, it should be fine.

It feels weaker how? The pedal effort is is less? or the clamping is less? Last edited by s13conv; 11-09-2003 at 09:50 AM.. |

I have a daikin clutch for 89 maxima for my SR....and If you didn't know, Daikin clutch is made by exedy clutch corp.
It holds up to all my kicking. Has never slipped.

I plan to break mine it for at least 200 miles of stop and go.
If it grabs too high, it may just need adjusted at the pedal. If not, maybe it's one of the cylinders. |

Might want to re-bleed the clutch system.

thumbs up for the exedy, the one i ordered was ACT, but when i looked more closely at the labeling on the actual clutch plate, I saw that it was actually an exedy packaged under ACT. Mine is on an sr20det and its pushing close to 250 with smooth but way way better enguagement than stock.

act uses exedy disks and there own pressure plates. daiken makes factory nissan clutches. exedy is there performance division. for moderate power they are great clutches. way better than spec imo. i believe that nismo clutches are also made by exedy. i use there street disk with custome made pressure plate (3400lbs) works great.
