Oil Cooler mounting location
I know its become customary to mount oil coolers in an area where it gets exposure to airflow eg in front bumper, wheel well, etc. Does anyone have their oil cooler mounted in the bay? What are your temps? What are typical temps from people with coolers mounted in front? Wheel well guys?
Please only post up factual temperatures. I'm debating installing my oil cooler in the bay where my fuse box used to be. Again please no specualtion I want to keep this factual. I have other reasons why I'm considering keeping the oil cooler in the engine bay. |

Sorry I don't have numbers, but I've had my oil cooler in the fender like the blitz kit reccomended and didn't like it there as it's easy to smash and not too much flow to it. I ended up putting it between the front mount (greddy typical fmic setup) and the rad. Put the oil filter relocation beside the coldpipe where the battery used to be. I was debating it putting it vertically in front of the fuse box, cutting a hole and making a vent from the bumper opening and up into the cooler, decided against it.
