SR fuel problem.. ?

Car would suddenly die while driving, no bog. Sometimes it would start back up again, other times it wouldn't. When it does start up, sometimes it backfires then it dies, otherwise it just starts up then dies again couple seconds later. When this first started happening it would only happen after the car had warmed up so I figured it was fuel pump so I got a new Walbro and put that in.

All was dandy until today when it started doing it again, except it starts dying even before it's all warmed up. Got towed home and suspected possible clogged fuel filter? Took that off and tried blowing into it and there isn't much resistance at first but then it slowly becomes more difficult to blow into it suggesting that it's clogged. Picking up a new Z32 filter tmrw and putting that in and hopefully it solves the problem?

If not, what else could it be?

Recent work done:
Spark plugs
Fuel filter
Fuel pump
Nismo FPR
Splitfire coils

Possibly the igniter? We used to have a s13 missile that had a slightly busted igniter on it, so the wires would come loose, and mid drift it would cut in/out and sometimes die. Just an idea, but try fuel filter first.

Sounds like an electrical issue to me. You said splitfire coils were recently added. Did the issue exist prior to installing those?

Also might want to check relay/grounds for fuel pump.

Could also be an issue with injectors or an engine grounding problem.

Hope this helps.

ECU code 21 - Ignition signal

Igniter? I tested it as per FSM and no faults tho.

Maybe the wiring? My igniter's not bolted on properly so it's just kinda flopping around near the exhaust manifold. Maybe all the heat's getting to it? Or maybe it's flopping around too much.. ?

if you have a cat check that it might be clogged if not then make sure nothing is in the exhaust system clogging it.

I have no cat and don't think there's anything in the exhaust system.

Code 21 might be because I was screwing around with the igniter and unplugging it while running to see if I could try and replicate the problem I experienced while driving. I'll reset the car tomorrow and see if the code is cleared but now that I think of it the problem is prolly cuz the igniter's way too close to the exhaust manifold. Seeing as it has to cool down before it starts again that might be it! Now I'm hoping that the car will die while I'm driving it so I can swap in my spare igniter and see if it solves the issue
