New swap not cranking over!

chassis: 1995 240sx (auto)
motor: sr20det blacktop
ecu: sr20det 5spd
harnesses: new upper and lower wiring specialities harnesses
history of the motor: pulled the motor out of a running car - so i know the motor is good.

problem: when i try to crank up the motor, all you here is a loud whine from the starter trying to engage the flywheel and thats it. any ideas?

thanks in advance!

is the starter turning the motor over? OR is the starter just spinning?

starter is just spinning. the motor does not move at all. i had the starter check at the autoparts store and it looks like its functioning properly.

So the starter is spinning, but the motor is not turning? Are you sure it's the proper fit starter and flywheel?

The only reason for the starter to be turning and the engine is not would be there to be no contact between the starter and the flywheel.
