Throttle cable too short!

ok so ive searched zilvia, i used google and ive found next to nothing on this. ive got an s13 with an sr and a freddy intake, but my throttle cable is way to short for this setup. I looked at the throttle cable, and it was definitely messed with, there was a rigged wooden shim where it connects to the pedal. the throttle cable was a little short before with the stock intake as i had to run it over the back of the valve cover. Now the only way id have any chance of making it work is if i ran it diagnolly right from the firewall to the throttle body. now my only concern is i bought the car preswapped so i dont know the history on the car, and what it was before it was swapped. (abs, auto, etc...) has any one else had said issues? and are certain s13 throttle cables longer than others? i was considering buying a lokar universal throttle cable kit, but id much rather run oem if i can.

edit. is it possible the swap was bought as a clip, and they used the rhd throttle cable?

Did your car orginally have the single cam engine? If so it is shorter, you will need a the throttle cable out of a car with the dual cam motor.

sorry i should have included that, its a 91 so it was originally a twin cam, but i suppose its possible that they swapped the cable for some reason?

OK, Can you measure it from the firewall to the tip where it connects to the throttle body. I'll measure mine when I go to the garage in a hour.

Just buy a new cable for your car if it looks like a hack job. They are $50 dollars, but I guess that's too much for some people to have a properly working gas pedal...?
