I believe that is quite easy.
On the easy side, the lmgt2 appear to be multipiece so it may be as easy as dissassembly and reassembly with a wider barrel. On the medium easy side, they are 3 piece welded and can be cut apart, grinded down, and rebarrelled. Thats what i had done to my Fabulous wheels. On the tougher side, they are a 2 piece wheel where they can cut the center out of the OEM welds and make the center singular so it can be used and made into a 3 piece wheel. My local guy does this also. and, on the very tough side (not the case of the LMGT2) My local shop wheel Medic cuts and widens one piece wheels wheels regularly. so yes. anything is possible as logn as you have the money to do it. EDIT - I do not work for Wheel Medic, I am just a VERY satisfied customer.

Disclaimer, i dont know the answer.
I dont know if they are or aren't. i do know that you shouldnt worry, becayse... many people can cut the welded 3 piece wheels with zero issues and then re-lip them. Buy em!!

read post 11....
then read post 12.... Disassembling SSR Wheels - ClubRoadster.net I would contact SSR and ask specifically about the Minera in that size. My Fabulous Profounds were welded. If you refer to post 12 in the link i sent you may see contradicting terms. That might be because someone once had the non-wleded ones rebarreled. EDIT- then i found this... Rebuilding SSR Professors - StanceWorks I bet they are welded. Send them to me, my hookup will cut them for 25 per wheel.

Thanks man.
I might pick them up anyway and find out, they're only cheap. I'm sure there must be some one close to me with a big lathe, it's just finding one that'll do it.

What Size Lips did you end up ordering for your 18x9+36 Setup? Also what did they charge? Thanks Man

I took the 18x9 +36 and put on an 18x6 lip thus making it 18x11.5 +4 (that's a 18x5.5 inner and 18x6 outer).
The whole job was 617.00 out the door including disassembly, cutting the welds, new/better wheel hardware, reassembly and a mount and balance of new tires. I have a spare set of 18x5 outer lips if you want... but he can get 18x6 if you want those too.

Considering this on a set of PIAA Rozza's 19X8.5 19X9.5 (high offsets and not known yet) to 19X9.5 for front and 19X10.5 or 11 for the rears.....

why dont you just use the rears for the front lol so u dont have to rebarrel both just run a spacer if the offset is to high. No point on wasting that much on those rims |

If they are 40 hole, how do I get these fairly universal lips 1.5" bigger? Thanks in advance man. I did keep up with like the first 5 or 6 pages but lost track and just want to get this question out there, while I'm catching up lol. ![]() P.S. Kriss I love your six spoke, what are they? I'd like to get some to make an awesome mismatch for my Andrews. |

picked them up today. need to find at least 2 more.
![]() ![]() 4 on the right are type b. 2 on the left are type c. idk what the difference between type b and c are. i can see no difference and measured everything i could. the centers are exactly the same. they clear the wilwood bbk. even the rear mounted valve stem clears the caliper. way more clearance than my 16in enkie 92's have.(ignore the dirty/rusty rotors, i have cadium plated ones to replace them with when im done with the car) ![]() ![]() now to find at least 2 more, and then save the cash for all the new barrels and lips to make them 17x8 +12 and 17x9.5 +12 Last edited by williamb82; 06-30-2012 at 06:42 PM.. |

i have 3 mk2 supras. i just bought another pair of 16's about 20min ago so have 2 full sets of 16in full reverse mesh now. 1 set ill have the outer lips widened 1in in front and 2in in rear which will make them 16x8 +12 and 16x9 0 for my 86 mk2 which is getting a built motor with side draft webers, hks cams, etc...
the other set is going to be redone to 17x8 and 17x9.5 +12 all around for my 84 supra which is getting the 2jzgte and lt1 t56 etc.. both have tilton twin plate clutches, 1 piece driveshafts, etc.., though the 84 has wilwood big brakes front and rear, the 85 will have z32 calipers front and stock rears (wont be anywhere near as fast as my 84 so doesnt need as much stopping power). i also have an 85 mk2 which will get the 17x7.5/17x8.5 +4 all around staggered set of rota rb's i bought a couple years ago. then i have some 16x7 enkie 92's with 0 offset and some 15x7 american racing mesh with 0 offset. keeping those as id like to find a 77 celica liftback to build and maybe a 85 celica gts coupe as well. Why you are incapable of using the "enter" key.
Anyone have anymore pics of forged wheels that have had the faces cut ad put into a new barrel? Like the CE28's a couple pages back. |
