No speed limiter?

I was told that all sr20det have a electrically limited max speed at 110mph or so. Well I went out to test that theory a week ago. Lets just say I went faster than the 110 barrier thats suppose to be there. So is it true that there is a speed limiter on the SR there was one when I had my KA motor. Just wondering.

Well if anythign the original owner of your motor took it out, might have a Mines ECU or something else done to it.

The other thing is its a 180sx type-x engine a SR20DET blacktop, when my friend bought the clip it had the stock air box on it still no stickers, the engine feels diffrent from a redtop a little bit. Well thanks for the answer.

Whats the air box got to do with it, just check the ecu. There might be a sticker or something on it. There are a number of reasons why it could feel different, the main one being your motor is newer, less miles, probably better condition. I don't beleive there are any differences with blacktop or redtop s13 SRs

I have an s14 sr and I just checked my ecu. the green/yellow wire has been cut. I do not have a speed limiter because I took it up to where the speedo would have read 130mph if it did. It would have kept on going if I wasn't scared to take it any faster

well the stock speedometer on the Silvia-180's reads 180Kph which is 111.8~Mph you can take it up to about 233Kph which is like 145Mph That is a rough estimate just judging from what I did with an Apex speed meter on my car when it was stock. the conversions are accurate I just don't know how exact the Apex was.
