![]() Like the title says I have an annoying clutch/tranny problem.
heres the facts; -sometimes when comeing to a stop at a light, the clutch petal is depressed, I will come to a stop and the car will be in gear. the clutch will still be engaging on the flywheel, just a little makes the sound of a worn throwout bearing sort of and pulls the car forward. Ony way to stop this is to yank the car out of gear. - sometimes I will come to a stop and all will be fine, I will be sitting there with the clutch depressed and car in gear then all of a sudden it will grap and pull the car. - I can hold the brake to keep the car from moving, and only 2 times in the last few month has the car died from clutch grabbing too much and stalling the motor. most of time rpms will drop to 4-500rpm. - I have to yank on the shifter to get it out of gear, or I have to rev the car to about 2400rpm and then it will release. and the shifter is freee and the car is no longer pulling. Setup: -4 month old -MC did this before so i figred it was the master since old one leaked a little. -stinless clutch line -Slave is in good workin condition, no leakes, push clutch pedal it fully extends -I dont lose anyfluid so i do not have any leaks. equipment -spec stage 2 clutch installed with sr swap car ran fine for 2 years with the clutch, now in last 5 month or so it has been acting like this, this doesnt happen alll the time but frequently close to 60-70% of time now. before was sparingly. what could be the problem guys? I dont want to pay for a tranny shop to fix this as they are expensive. I want to fix this asap as it is annoying. |

bad t/o bearing = grinding noise when you are on the clutch; nothing else.
if the clutch is grabbing when you are on the clutch, first thing i would do is bleed the clutch. also check to see if your slave cylinder is failing... otherwise i dunno... something in there is fucked up. it's obvious that even when you are on the clutch, it's not disengaging fully. edit : note for future driving, when you are stopped at a traffic light sitting, your foot should be on the dead pedal and the shifter in neutral. you do not hold down the clutch everytime you are neutral... that is one form of riding the clutch. it prematurely wears your t/o bearing (which is prob why you have a bad t/o bearing now). |

it only maks the throw out bearing noise when the clutch grabs. wouldnt it do it constatly if the throwout bearing were bad?
Problem is the clutch grabbs I do not have any air in the clutch system, it is all clean fluid and no air at all i spent a long time making sure their was none. I have tested the slave, and it fully extends every time i depress it |
