Aren't the Srs and Ka drive shafts the same...

I am not a 240 guy so I dont really know but the kind I have uses a rubber flex disc and the kind I need it just 2 u joints. See below pics

Save yourself the welding. Buy a ka driveshaft. You can find them for around $50/$75.

I need to get a custom shaft made to mate the front end of a nissan ds up to my bmw shaft, either that or an entire custom unit.

Gotcha gotcha. Thought you were just wanting to get rid of the chunk of rubber. Either way, a ka end will work as well.
