New to these parts...
First off, I must say...you guys are f'n hilarious (and informative). I have been reading through the boards awhile now, and you never cease to crack me up. The way you talk to "n00bs", although sometimes rude, is hilarious. I have been over on SR20Forum.com for about 3 years, and we get a lot of the same questions you guys get, but about the B-chassis (especially since the popularity increase with the SR20DET swap). We too have had to crack down and many of us have resorted to joining the ranks of the "Search Nazis", whos answer to everything is simply "Search", because we know all the info is buried in the forum somewhere.
Anyways, I have an SR20DET in my B13, with a GTiR turbo set-up, and a laundry list of mods (swap done by yours truly). I also have a B14 SE-L (SR20DE) which is pretty much stock. I picked it up as a daily driver almost a year ago, and the temptation to spend irrational amounts of money on that car is knocking at my door. I've been weighing my options, I have considered keeping the car, selling the car and picking up an Evo and making payments, or keeping it in the family and sourcing a 240 as a new project. Ultimately I want to get into RWD or AWD....so naturally a 240 is up there on my list. We over at SR20Forum have discussed many times the "240 bandwagon", and many people (including myself) said they would not buy a 240 based on the popularity increase. I might change my mind on that. To me its not what kind of car you own, but who owns the car really. If the person knows what they are talking about and what they are doing, then the car is really irrelevant. I have met cool Honda owners, my roommate is a DSMer, etc....I think we are all guilty of passing judgment based on what a person is driving...I know I am. Anyways, I think I will feel right at home here because I have put many through what I see you guys put others through. It will be a good learning experience regardless of whether I get a 240 eventually or not. Josh P.S. - Sorry for the book, and no there are no Cliff Notes ![]() |

I bought one recently because its a cheapass car that I can make fast for cheap; suspension parts are dirt cheap, interior and exterior parts are dirt cheap... the car is EASY to work on, its very light, etc, etc... oh and it was cheap
![]() the turbolexus kinda bent the wallet a bit... and when shit hits the fan you cant have a bent wallet; well it did and here I am ![]()

Thats why I got into my B13. Nissan did more than one thing right I guess. The B13 is light, handles well for FWD, and can hit 300+ whp for under 5k....not a bad deal. In the end its only true fault is the fact that 3rd gear is made of glass. BTW, here are a few pics of my cars: ![]() ![]() ![]() These pics are from a year ago or so, pre T28 set-up, and currently it is under the knife getting a JDM front and new paint....should be 100% next summer. ![]() ![]() That is my B14....as you can see it is pretty much stock. Wheels are no longer on the car, I only used them for when I moved down to Florida. If I end up getting a 240, this car will go, and all proceeds go to credit cards and then rest goes in bank for future car ![]() |

welcome dude. I'm actually working with my buddy right now on a sr20det b13 but its stock se-r. he replaced the factory motor with a jdm sr20det because he blew his and it was the easiest to find. actually he's running a lot of my old setup so we'll see how it goes.

Yea, that is what I did, went from stock to swap. After a couple years I put in the bigger turbo. They are great cars and fun to drive, but there is really only so far you can go with the stock tranny and FWD....that is what is pushing me towards something else. Josh |
