simple question

hey guys, i have a red top , when it was stock it had a rough start, in the course of 6 months or so , i have upgraded the exhaust manifold, turbo outlet, downpipe , catback and greddy fmic. now eversince the intercooler upgrade, it has a very very very rough start, and dosent run as strong as one would think with all those upgrades, runnin stock 7 psi , and did a compression check , 150 accross the board .... so just please tell me , when i get tuned it will start better and be faster .... right ?

hmm

what you have listed really arnt "upgrades" per say the cold start ect. What you really have to look at is that there IS SOMTHING WRONG! You must fix the problems before you do any more "uprgrades/tuning".

Bad starting issues can mostly be centered around wiring harness and spark delivery, especially MAF. Having some-one around who is versed in these types of problems (like me) would be a good thing.

SO...check ECM for error codes.

Check sensors for corect outputs (Sentra chiltons manual and voltmeter)

check spark plugs.

Check coil pack plug wires for corrosion/cracking

check maf wires/plug for corrosion/cracking

does the car idle right?

The Idle Air Control Valve dictates cranking injection, is it possible this bad?

feel like yet?

From here it sounds harness esq (internally) Recently Alot of the redtop harneses I have been seeing have been in pretty bad shape (internally) while externally they are ok. Maybe red tops are getting old in Japan/singapore/phillipines (where-ever these motors are REALLY coming from).

But, this would be the start.

I was having cold start issues too, it was fixed as soon as I found my boost leak. You just installed your intercooler so a leak may be your problem.
