Hot Brakes?
I just got my pictures from this weekends autox. One picture shows my brakes with orange colorization. It looks like I got them pretty hot, but does this normally happen (in an autox) or is it just some photographic phenom. Probably just reflection off the cones.
I'm running brembo replacement discs with PBR Ultimates. There were two moderate/hard braking zones in sequence right before coming out of that corner. Picture Last edited by Hikarispeed; 04-07-2005 at 11:44 AM.. |

looks like brake heat to me. Im sure its not enough to overheat to the point where you get lots of fade. I did get 'some' brake fade when i had stock brakes, and i got LOTS of it on the road course. Now that ive got teh z brakes, i dont have any fade whatsoever, very good investmetn.

that is just sweet!
there was a guy at the last autoX in a miata that after each run he would pour cold water on his discs (it wasnt even a hot day) but wouldnt that crack ur discs due to the quick temp. change?

Final Call: Reflection I just noticed that I had 2 pictures prior to this one (on the same lap and all within 30feet) and had no discolored rotors. I guess there was a little wishfull thinking that it was hot brakes ![]() |
