![]() I just recieved my S14 T28 and it came equipped with the two hardlines with banjo fittings but no oil fitting (the peice with two bolts used to attach) and no fitting for the threaded oil inlet. This turbo is for a KA-T setup and my question is this: do most of the KA-T people forgo the water cooling and simply cap those hardlines off? And also if any one knows where to pickup the oil fittings aside from junkyards as well as inlet pipes and compressor oulet pipes as the turbo did not come with the stock peices. Thanks.

Unless you enjoy continual bleeding of air from the cooling system, leave the water lines out. I've seen several turbo KAs run both setups, the ones with water cooling are always more prone to overheating problems. Unless you can get both lines high enough to not trap air it's not worth it.
If you do decide to use them, there's a port coming off the upper inlet neck that runs to the TB, use that for feed and the block drain for return. The less lines you run the better also.

Actually that was one of my concerns after looking at the coolant line option. The more and more I hear, the oil lines should be sufficient, the complexity of the coolant situation is definitley something I could live without.

After some serious pushing of the car it does run a little hotter than usual, but I don't think its from air in the coolant system, it's just because I'm running it through the hot ass turbo and I have a stock radiator. It returns to normal temps in no time, but I think thats normal for it to heat up a bit. Maybe a cooling panel will help? Never really thought they helped much but I've heard others say they work great.
