Never once hit 300 miles a tank. If I EVER hit 300 miles a tank.. I'll take a pic of it and rejoice.. bwhahah.

How about this. How far does the needle go down before you're EMPTY on gas? I freak out as soon as I touch the las black line.. then I get some gas..hahaha

I get around 300+ mixed driving 340ish all highway. This is on 87-89 octane with the gas prices going up I only used the good stuff for race day.

Everyone is calculating per tank. Just curious because, how I do it is, I fill up and set my trip meter to 0. Drive around until I have to fill up again and then calculate MPG. It seems to me that trying to determine MPG per tank is rather inaccurate unless you drive until it dies.

^ not true at all. Check your receipt. The amount of miles divided by the amount of gallons purchased.

Come by me again? Isn't that what I said? That you have to start with a full tank of gas. Drive around and then fill up before you can determine your MPG. Otherwise, you can't really determine how much gas you've used. Maybe I'm missing something.

You said it's inaccurate unless you drive till it dies which is not correct. You can fill up(make sure you stop filling when the pump stops), set your trip to zero, drive around then fillup. Divide the amount of miles driven by gallons and there you go. Surely this is not 100.00% accurate but it's pretty close.

Nosterdomis,
I totall agree with you because that's how I said to do it. What I said above, was that it is inaccurate if you "tried to determine MPG per tank ."
