Oh boy.

Whats up with the not super clean lines?

Perspective on your ellipses are all tweaked. Time to get some elipse guides.

Your form language for the jaguar concepts doesnt say anything jaguar anything.
Go look at the 60s XKE's and racecars.

I can't wait for dorito_slut to see this.

Yah he'll get all bonered about this topic!!

I draw naked people not cars sadly.

How many show lindsays awesome cars threads exist now? 3?
I guess it's good they get to look at "pro" work.

EDIT: I forgot the encouraging part of my ranting.

Keep up the drawing there's promise here. Just gotta do more homework.

Here's some of my crappy doodles, maybe they'll give some inspiration..
But yeah, buy some ellipse guides, and try to nail your lines with one stroke. Work on perspective too. After that, you'll start to see your work shaping up.

Hey Buddy, thems is fighting words....except, you two take the car drawings to a whole new level. Wouldn't mind making one for Peugeot or Opel. What tips can you give on sketching out cars for a particular company? For example, GM, Mazda, Nissan, etc.... I've always wanted to do it, but always was a tad bit sketchy on what I wanted to do.

Edit: Or better yet, what tips can you give overall.

Sadly I don't draw car's at all really.

I really don't think any of my work has any place on zilvia as i'd probably get too many comments about 'hey my 8 year old can do that' or how come it doesn't look like a photo.

So i'll just be talking big for now. I'll post some stuff when my show is done and ready.

The best advice I can give about drawing cars, or anything for that matter is steal. Steal everything you can. Never just borrow ideas you see around you. Straight up take them and make them yours.

Pull lines don't push.

Impactred: Those are some sweet models. You going to school for trans or industrial design? ACCD?

Good advise.

I taught myslef how to draw comic book character's when i was young by tracing the doubles of my comic book cards.

I've been trying to do the same with cars.

Now the thing with tracing is, to me, is the fact you aren't really using your adapting/freehanding skills. You're just dragging. I've learned to just look at what you're drawing, and rarely glance at your work. The only time i'd glance is when i need pencil/pen placement.

And, to really stay on topic/threadjack, i like to throw out concepts of Marvel characters that i think need revamping, like Thor, capt America, hawkeye, and those guys. And charactures are becoming more and more dope.

Current Major Art/Marketing.

The main problem i've got with my drawings are that most come out to 'bright', even when i aim for a darker styling. It sucks balls. Imagine Medieval-esque Thor, weilding his mighty Mjollnir, with a smile on his face. EVERYONE, POST CONCEPTS!

PS, can anyone recommend any good anatomy books? cuz i still suck at that.

I use this technique to teach myself. I don't do that anymore when i draw organic objects. LIke I said, I'm trying to teach myself how to draw cars and because they are so exacting with proportions and angles and whatnot it's difficult for me. It's not like drawing a human form.

hahaha i like the idea! i'll just change this thread to SHARE YOUR ART PIECES!!! Everyone post up their art pieces whether it may be comic books, storyboards, concept designs, etc as long as its PG and doesnt coincide with the rules and guidelines. ie - overly detailed human figures that are nude.

Wow, i may seem like a nerd, but i've been out of the comic circulation for quite some time.

Spiderman has a new metal-skin suit?!?!

Up-and-coming stories/concepts like these make my pants wet.

Alright alright, let's see some works, no matter how sorry they are. I was going to show an Illustrator piece I had to do for my Advanced Imaging class, but I can't find the final piece that I did. Currently, I'm in the middle of Illsutrating a friends picture, that was taken at a party.
