Been checking all the wiring diagrams that I can find and the only thing I can come up with (2nd new alt BTW) is the extra wire I have going to earth on the alt caseing.....have the Black that goes white as depicted then I have a smaller(10 or 12 guage) wire that is solid black about 6 inches back is a spot where it may have been put back together but there is a crimp and solder that looks pro or machine done....BTW all the other wires and fuses/relays check out as working.

you should make sure your alt is clean where it bolts to the brackets. also if your not geting power through that wire just throw a new one on and take the old one off i wouldnt screw with fixing the wire.
