the blockoff 'plate' is not a nissan item. i know hotlinking to ebay is not allowed here, but please take note this is NOT mine or a friends product, only to help the original poster.

http://cgi.ebay.com/240sx-KA24DE-EGR...QQcmdZViewItem

^ that is what most people use including myself on my last 2 ka-t's. works like a charm, just get a new nissan gasket or silicone.

Hey,

I have a ZENKI (95-96) with KA24DE.

What is the process of blocking off the EGR? I've search and checked out multiple posts and they all kind of say different things. Currently, my engine check light is on and when I brought it to Nissan to check it out, they said I need a new EGR system which runs like over $300 Canadian.

Can you explain the parts needed to block off the EGR / how to do it? or point me in the direction of a post you know of?

Thank you!!!

Nissan does sell an AIV plug for the manifold which will also fit the EGR port. It's called an AIV delete.

You would still need to block off the intake manifold though with the above item.

ebay links are only forbidden when you are selling an item. they are allowed for general information. a lot of people misunderstood the rule.

Dont knock a free. Plus how many people at a quick glance can go. "Oh i see you removed your EGR!"

You can also make one! :O

Hell i've made my exhaust flanges. And am working on making head exhaust flange for an 86.

Plus depending on location. Would having no EGR on physical inspection = fail emissions/smog?

just make a block off plate with two holes in it. Then bolt your stock egr pipe over it. Just in case you decide to go back. Easy peasy.

hmm. that's not the point. If you'd like to go back to stock, just unbolt two bolts and revert back to stock. Why pay 8 bucks when you can find a piece of steel/aluminum for like less than a buck.

An EGR block off plate means you fail smog..

Bending and welding the tube will look ugly as fuck as Johny5 said 'cuz you'll have a chunk of tube hangin' around in your engine bay.

My friend made me a plate in 20 minutes out of steel and I just gasketed and RTV'd it..

Less than $15...

does the block off plate sit in between the EGR and the throttle body or does it replace the EGR altogether? Anyone know where I can one for a KA24E?

Stock bolts are to long for just the plate and I'm to lazy to get washers or shorter bolts.

You can use the AIV plug or get a nickle and use the stock pipes threaded adapter.

S14's don't have AIV so can't help you there.
