it depends on what color the car currently is, and how much gunmetal color you have. really, you can cover up any color with any color, (as long as it's not a transparent undercoat) it's just a matter of how many coats it will take to do this.

My question is, Will it make a difference in the Gunmetal (the top coat), if the bottom coat is black? The body shop said it will make the gunmetal more deep.
And also, with adding additional metallic wouldn't it be more shiny than less metallic? The body shop didn't agree with me. Same with clear coat. |

just tell them to throw on a dark sealer........ u dont need a black base coat.. but it helps with coverage..... honestly a dark seal or a black base would work... but it shouldnt cost that much extra.. theyre trying to milk u bro... if the job doesnt come out good then bring it back if its transparent in the sun........
