You're joking right? The fuel pump relay provides power to the fuel pump, controlled by the ECU's signal.

Great attitude, how old are you, 12?

You asked a very basic question, and gave the most vague reasoning for asking it. No one can diagnose your problem without a little more insight or at least a better description of the problem.
Not running smooth can be attributed to a dozen different things. Grow up and use some common sense before you come on a web board crying about some weird problem.

Go get your exhaust replaced. The problem is caused because it isn't up to par for your driving. Go for 3" from cat back... that'll do you right.

Wow. You just tried to tell one of the most knowledgeable people on this board off and then you make a SECOND ignorant comment. 3 inch it better on the KA GO SEARCH! Also It could be a number of things. Like you could need gas. For all we know it could be something as stupid as that.

i usually don't do this but ill put this in the simplest way possible.

you are an idiot yes it in bold letter because you are that big of an idiot and using any more of an insulting word would be a waste of grammar

reason: you ask question, get an appropriate response for an answer you could have typed on yahoo and gotten a result in 3 seconds, you tell the person off

Most of the fuel pump schematic is described in here: http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.p...uel+pump+relay

In electronic circuits, the relay is a device that allows a small current to control a much larger current. Take our cars for example. The ECU is a very sensitive device that uses very low current. The fuel pump on the other hand draws a lot more current.

So in order for the ECU to control fuel pump current, you need a relay. Otherwise, the ECU has to deal with the task of handling a very large current and supplying that current to the fuel pump. You don't want that large a current flowing through the ECU because it can damage the circuit board.

So the relay's job is whenever the ECU draws current, the relay sends battery power to the fuel pump. This keeps the high current off the ECU wiring and isolates the high current.
