Dampening Adjustment Knob broke off...

I broke the knob that adjusts the dampening on my stances on saturday. Went to TF and got a new one.

Well I unscrewed the bolt that was in there and tried putting the new one in. But, it wouldn't go in. The top part from the differences in the pic is still stuck in the bottom of the strut.

The top part is still in there. Got any ideas on how to get it out? I was told it should drop out, but I pounded the strut with a malet and it isn't budging.

JB Weld a crappy screwdriver in there and then twist it out after. You probably have part of the threaded portion still stuck in there. When you install the new one use some anti-sieze if you think you'll be removing it again for whatever reason.
