If you know your 240 wiring, i need your help

Ok, heres the deal. I have a 1997 S14 it had an S13 SR in it until the previous iwner blew it up, i bought the car from him and he swears wiring harness was a complete plug and play deal if i jsut out another S13 SR in it. Well it seems thats not the case.

I have a few issues, one is the car gets NO spark at all and i have checked ignitor, CAS, and ECU, they all are perfectly fine.

Secondly, he has some ghetto ass lower harness on the car wich while i was trying to find out why the car wont get spark i noticed that one of the 2 wires comming out of the alternator plug jsut goes to nothing. It is a heavy gauge white wire and it is basically jsut cut. What wire do i recconnect that too?

And third, while trying to crank the car i notice the battery terminals get hot and also the ignition switch starts to warm up. waht the hell?

and lastly, this maybe related to number 3. As soon as i turn the key to the on position the spedometer jumos up to 20MPH for no reason and then later the water temp gauge starts to move up also? Any hel there

Allt hese issues might be related but im in a BIG hurry as im moving saturday mourning and i need to start this car, So any helo is appreciated, thanks
