code 34 again
I know it has been asked before and I did do a search, but I'm not really sure what to do anymore.
I get a code 34, knock sensor circuit error. I have a 1995 240sx (s14) with an sr20det (european model, but I guess they're not much different). I did do the following tests and they same fine ![]() ![]() The 1st test gives me value of 900+ and the 2nd gives a value of 0, which, I am told, is correct. A voltage test on the plug (not the ecu side) gives me value of around 3,3v. I did read this thread and charlie2020 comments http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.p...t=knock+sensor where he says it should 5v at the ecu. Would it then also be 5v at the plug ? If so, could the error be caused because of the 3,3v ? and why ?

I have also heard that if tighen the KS too tight, it will retard timing. Is should be something like 6 ft lbs er something like that.

Never touched it (you cant even see it from the top) since I bought the car 4 years ago.
So I don't think the problem lies with tightening ![]()
