Turbo/exhaust Leak

OK Im getting really sick of taking my whole turbo assembly out. Ive done it like 7 times already. Im getting a leak where the manifold meets the turbo. I have a Megan manifold with a GT2871 and the studs keep loosening themselves. I have about a 2mm gap between the turbo and the manifold now. Its getting cold and I dont want to have to take this apart in the middle of the winter. What should I do to keep this tight?

You don't have the stock locking plates do you? Should buy a new set if you don't. Or try lock washers.

I have the stock locking plates. The funnhy thing is that doesnt seem to make a difference. The whole stud seems to me turning out. What size are the locking washers, mine are getting stripped from taking it apart so much I might as well get some more. Will lock tight help at all?

I dont think lock tite would help much as the temperature on the manifold gets pretty hot (not sure though, but worth a try) or you can get new turbo stud, nuts, and wash from atp. Pretty cheap and good quality. The owner is a really cool guy as well.

Just do it Jon Wayne style, and weld the turbo to the manifold.

Bust that baby loose.

I feel your pain brother. Lock washers, locking plates, torqued to hell, lock tite, and I still have bolts falling out. My suggestion is get downpipe with a flex section in it to help lessen the force of scraping your exhaust and get some good solid motormounts to keep the engine from vibrating and moving around.

i hated pulling the whole turbo/manifold off every couple months....so i just welded the studs to the manifold...bolted the turbo on...then tacked the nuts to the studs...works for me

This sounds like a good fix to me
