throwout bearing springs

is the retainer spring a must have? there wasnt one on when i pulled off the tranny, and i put 15k on it without issue before that. i do have the holder spring, and everything seems to function as required. these things are pretty hard to come by.

the retainer spring keeps the lever attached to the pivot ball...i would find a replacement if i were you b/c if the holder spring fails the lever will fly off the pivot ball and cause havoc.

yeah, ive tried a few dealers and they all said it would be one week +. there isnt any play when the fork is connected to the bearing sleeve with the holder spring, but like you said if that goes then who knows.
although it does seem that with the pressure plate in there, there wouldnt be enough room for the fork to come off the ball regardless.

if anyone has a spare.....let me know!!
