NISMO SSS/GT/GT-PRO LSD question

alright i've been reading up on the nismo lsd for quite some time and have most of my facts right, but one thing i have yet to get a solid answer.

i remember reading that the SSS has 3way torque adjustable settings but i have asked an owner of a NISMO GT 2way and he said only the GT-PRO is 3way torque adjustable.

the SSS has 16 plates and the GT has 20plates is what i also know

from what i was told from my friend's personal experience/knowledge, that the SSS and GT? are rated for 70lb ft tq breakaway and it set at that with no adjustability.

can someone please confirm that which model has the 3way adjustable torque breakaway setting?

thanks!

the gt-pro has the 3 torque setting adjustability, don't confuse with the nismo gt which is the one sold at most nissan dealerships ~ $700.

depending on your application, a kaaz unit maybe better. easy to get, install, and serviced. they can also convert your 2-way to a 1.5 way.

Isn't the Nismo one dealerships sell called the "Street"?

Not like it matters, but I wasn't aware they call it a GT.

If I had GT Pro LSD money, I'd much rather get a OS Giken.

More plates than Crate & Barrel in that biya.

i don't believe the one at the dealership is adjustable,
that's most likely the gt pro, the good stuff, but then again, who would want to adjust anything, i'm too fcking lazy.. haha

Yeah...the Nismo LSD's aren't that hot outside of the GT Pro...

Kaaz, Tomei Trax Advance, ATS Deftforce...all great options

Nismo LSD you find at the Local US Dealers is a simple LSD with about 2-4 plates... not worth $700 when you can get a Kaaz for a little more.

Kaaz offers parts to change the 1.5 to 2 way (vis-a-versa) but it requires being taken out and parts being added or removed. Its also not cheep.

Someone make this a Sticky so or something!!!

Nismo GT Pro and GT Pro TT
Diff type - R200/R205
Differential system - 2 & 1.5 way, Internal pressure
Initial torque - Initial torque variable Functional attaching (6.5-8.5-14.0kgf)
Clutch plate quantity - 20
Clutch plate thickness - T = 1.5
Clutch plate - Grooved
The number of clutch plate nails - Inner 8 / Outer 16
Clutch plate Sliding area -
- Inner Major diameter (mm) 103.0
- Inner Inside diameter (mm) 59.0
- Outer Major diameter (mm) 104.0

- 1.5WAY 45°/1°

L.S.D. Installing kit - Included

Note* the 45° Cam Angle on the TT model... faster corner exits and better control out of the turn.

Nismo GT L.S.D
Stats are the same as above only the Initial torque is Fixed @ 8kgf and the Diff Type is R200.

Nismo SSS L.S.D.
Diff type - R200

^^^^ AWESOME INFO! Thanks drew

isn't the nismo SSS discontinued now?

so the nismo sss seems like the child version of the NISMO GT-PRO/TT

both have adjustability but sss has less plates and the diamater is smaller.

the GT-PRO is about 115,000 YEN which is about 1k USD and then shipping. but the kit comes with everything along with the output shafts and etc etc.

i think its worth it. adjusting the torque breakaway from what i've read is quite easy and quick to do. thats a major factor in why people love the nismo.

look here for the different models, straight from the nismo site

http://www.nismo.co.jp/products/prod...partslist.html

edit: seems that the TT model costs the same as the gt-pro. i wonder if anyone has actually purchased the TT model and has any reviews on it.

GT-Pro is the newer version of the SSS. There's is also a GT-Pro TT, "TT" meaning time trial. It's not adjustable, but rather fixed for smoother function.

but you can stack more plates in the SSS should you choose to do so, Which reminds me I need to tighten it up to 14kgf

How does the GT-PRO stack up against the Tomei or Cusco 2Way?

Tomei uses the Type A, AX, C, & CX on the S-Chassis.
The only difference in the A & C is Ring Gear Bolt Size is M13(10) on the C-model. X is the designation for using the stock side flanges.

Type - A
PCD - 150
Offset - 33.1
Disk diam - 105
Disk - (in) 4/ (out) 4
Disk thickness - 1.7
Spring pitch - 4
Ring gear bolt size (number) - M12(10)
serration tooth - 29T
Flange Inner dia - 32.0
Default Initial torque (kg.m) - 12.5 - 15.5
Pressure ring Cam angle - 60×60/60×40

It is the largest friction area among the others.
I'll try to get info on the Cusco RS LSD... not mush listed from what I can see.
