after dynoing my s14 at school i got this:
127 hp
140 lbs/ft
both are to the wheels, bone stock.

and i thought i read in a manual the ka24de is rated 140 hp / 160 tq?
i could be mistaken.

speaking of dyno pulls, thos one kid with a 350 bought a bunch of no name I/H/E and when he went to go run, he LOST 40 hp. we had a big laugh on that one...

"Welcome to another edition of the newbie thread!!!!"

Not only is this information found in "wikipedia, answers.com, google, msn, ask Jeeves, etc, etc, It's pretty easily found in FAQ/archive

And for the record:

KA24E = 140 HP, 155 TQ (flywheel rated) - all years
KA24DE = 155 HP, 155TQ (flywheel rated) - all years

Now the power curve...that's a different newbie thread altogether...

Your guys' dyno numbers are rated to the wheels, which means the difference is drivetrain loss.

Just trying to help.

Honestly, you will find numbers ranging from 140hp-155tq, to 160hp-160tq for all models. The ones i posted are the most consistent numbers you will find.

And yes they're sad numbers......TURBO TIME!!!

Speaks highly of garage works i guess...

HP in a KA?

Try Dyno-ing one...

Its pretty fricken sad,even with bolt ons.

I think the single cams are very close on the dyno.

I havent met a "fast" (emphasis on " ____ ") dual cam yet, other than hearing about Alex Chang's through the grape vine back in the day.

I've posted this link about 20 times over the years.....

http://www.importtuner.com/powerpage.../photo_03.html

Yeah, yeah say what you will about Import Tuner guys. But dyno charts are dyno charts...

(I don't read them any more anyways...for anyone who cares...)

nope. The S13 has a different intake manifold thus the aggressive cams balance out the power output from S13 to S14.

Power is the same on both models. (KADE of course)

well, there is the legend of the early production '91 "hot cams" that are supposedly a tad more aggressive. nothing that would rock the world of KA's, though. i have an early model 91, and it still feels slow as anything.

Bah long story short, the cams were changed because the newer ka's got rid of the intake butterfly's.
