![]() ![]() The HKS WGA is the one with the closer bolt holes and the straight arm. The stock one has the further bolt holes and the bent arm. My problem is that the HKS bracket wont fit the compressor bolt holes where its supposed to mount, the arm is too long and its straight instead of bent. What is the proper install method most people do? To make matters worse my stock WGA fell apart at the rod so i cant even go back stock ![]() I know i could bend the WGA rod and cut down the threaded sleeve but is that really necessary? |

it seems like that would solve the problemby looking at the original wastegate braket and the hks one.... i'm not sure either... i wanted to upgrade my to hks too, i think my actuator on my 2871 is crapped out....

there are two kinds of the wastegate you got. the one on the left the hks on is for the t25 style turbos and the one on the rite is for the t28 cause there is a bend on you must of order the wrong wastegate. if i'm not wrong.

Oh, and i did not even attemp to adjust the stock wga because i thought the wga spring itself was too weak to hold 19-20 psi to redline? My tuner blammed the boost spike on the TXS MBC(new style). I can either return this and fix my old one or go ahead and make it work and just look at it like for $100 ill know the problem is not the WGA. Wacha think? |

OK, so i called the vendor and he will take the HKS wga back since it didnt bolt up. I dont want to hassle with a custom bracket when im not even sure the WGA is the reason for my boost spike and not holding boost till redline. I figured out how to fix my stock WGA, turns out there was a loose stud inside the tip. So im gonna try to adjust it (tighten it) and see how much itll hold w/o spiking past 19psi. If this DOES NOT WORK i have a couple of options:
1. Ditch the cheap MBC for a good EBC and hopefully that fixes the problem...i cringe thinking about spending $300-$450 on a damn boost controller so hope its worth it. Ive never had this problem w/ a MBC on my Honda but then again i had an external 38mm tial WG. 2. Buy a 38mm Tail and run an external WG either off the stock manifold or out of the WG hole on the turbo....and keep the cheap MBC. This will probably be around $300. 3. Buy a good EBC and hopefully that fixes it, but if it doesnt then buy the external WG and have a damn nice setup consisting of EBC and Tial 38mm. Bad side: $750 . Oh and if i do this and boost issues persist i will crash this car into a brick wall. Advice? |
