92 Skyline GTS
Im freaked out about posting this because of all the flaming going on in this forum but here it is. I have a 1992 Nissan Skyline r32 GTS-T. It is not registered and has 60000kilometers on the odometer. It is clean inside and out. Has fully adjustable coilovers. And I beleive that is just about it. It is not registered.
I am looking at 12500obo. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by NINJAS14; 04-23-2007 at 02:23 PM.. |

i'd give you close to your asking price if you had that thing registered, but that won't happen. try talking to Kendall Noble at Fast 4 wheels and see what he can do, he may be able to help register it, but for the most part, that thing'll never be legal. too bad i was looking for a 32 gts too

The R32 mentioned in my origional post is a rear wheel drive with an RB20DE-T. I also have a RB25DET (motor only) that I can include for an extra $1000. The RB25 is a direct drop-in with no modifactions needed (it runs off the same ecu and harness as rb20det). Please pm me if you are a serious buyer. Thank you for your time.

Says so NOW because he edited his post. Silver - there's a big difference between stating facts and shit-talking. 1. OP posted it as a GTS. Period. 2. A Skyline GTS is RWD, RB20DE powered, 4 lug, and worthless. 3. A Skyline GTS-t is RWD, RB20DET powered, 5 lug, and slightly less worthless. 4. There is a LARGE profit margin in this price. 5. I just stopped myself from providing examples of why #4 is true, no need to thank me. Everyone else, if you don't feel like gouging your eyes out looking at a stupid thread or want to buy anything here, just move on. Remember what your mom always used to say: "If you don't have anything nice to say, stab them in the fucking neck." Hmm... I think that's what she used to say. I don't remember much from before the institution.

Im sure you've imported a bunch of cars from japan. So you must really know how much it costs to get it over here. I bet you Can't even import a car i you tried. You don't even know what bringing a car over consists of. How can you say there is a lot of money to be made. I think Im selling this skyline for cheap. This is almost at my cost. Even a 3000 dollar car in japan your looking to spend about 10g's total to bring it over. And I'll even show you how
-first you have to buy the car -then you have to take it to the shipping company -It is illegal to ship over registered cars so the cars registeration has to be destroyed, Some how. (with money) -also whole cars cannot be imported either unless you can sneak it in with toyotas, nissan,or hondas shipments. -but we actually bring it in as a parts car. -so we also have to pay for a shop in japan to pull the motor and doors off, Now I do not have a connection on mechanics in japan so I pay the full amount for that. Now even with the engine out and doors off It will not pass inspection. The inspectors in japan has to be payed off just so that it can be off on its way back to america. Yes this is already a lot of money spent. but then we havent even started on the shipping yet. The going rate on a container that fits a single car is 3000+ for shipping and then you have to account in for tax in japan. And its a very wierd tax but your looking at like another 1500.(some kind of import tax) In other words stfu, you don know wat your talking about. L |

importing a car here is kind of a big deal ..save yourself the headache and buy one thats already here. i think 12500 is reasonable for a starting point.

Most of your facts are straight, but trying to sound like your an authority on importing cars is the wrong way to go. GET OVER YOURSELF. Plain and simple the car is not worth what you want for it and that's not just an opinion thats a fact. So you aren't making much money by selling it/your eating part of the cost. That's what you get for buying a 2.0 skyline. I said GL w/ sale earlier in this post, but now seeing the kinda guy you are I could really give a flying---. have a nice day

Excellent attitude to have. I like how although I refrained from completely shutting you down and warned others to stay out of your thread, you show your gratitude by be a jerk.
Since I clearly have no idea what I'm talking about, none of what I 'know' must be factual, so given that, it won't hurt the sale of your car. That being the case, I'm going to lay it ALL out for you (and your potential customers). First: initial cost of the car. Stock, AT, no wheels, ¥50000 - will probably end between ¥80000-100000 (<$900) Mostly stock with a few mods - BUY NOW for $1560 Lowered, exhaust, wheels GT-R face - BUY NOW for ~$2175 Stock/lowered/exhaust This will end up selling for ~$1900. The price listed is basically what they want, hence the long time left on the auction. For clarity's sake, THIS is a GTS. 4 lug, RB20DE, worthless. Now THIS is closer to being worth $12k in the US. TommyKaira M20. So, that car was probably sold here for $1000-1500, MAX. Now to get a car to the US, there's a few ways to do it, but the way you're likely going is they grey-market approach. It's technically illegal to do it how you're doing it, but intent must be proven so it's a fairly viable route. Anyway, you've got to deregister a car first, so I'll use one of the BUY NOW cars as an example. Let's go with the one with the GT-R face for $2175. Now, shipping in Japan will probably cost me $500 so let's add that on. $2675. You have it shipped to a dismantler shop who removes engine, doors, and both front & rear subframes. While this is taking place, you can take the plates into the Land Transportation Office and deregister the car. This costs ~$15, and if JCI/Road Tax/Weight tax are current, you get some money back. Radical. Let's just say we got $15 so the cost evens out. Now let's add $500 for processing by the dismantler. $3175 Then you order your container. Let's say you go the expensive route and get one 20' container for the car, and nothing else. That alone is $3k. $6175 So the container comes and you load it up. Now contrary to the fairy tale (whoops I mean 'ACTUAL FACT') that you mentioned, there are no inspectors to get the shipment by, whether by magic or by bribery. Just like the registration doesn't have to be 'destroyed, somehow (with money)'. If ANYTHING, they'll simply log the contents of the container and send it off to its ship. So long as you're not marking it 'human cargo/sex slaves bound for North Korea/etc' they don't really give a shit. Now it goes to the boat and floats around the ocean for a few months. Now the boat has arrived at Long Beach harbor, and your container must clear customs. Now since you sent the shipment as 'used parts', you have to pay 3% tax on everything you have in the container. Neat part there is that you get to determine your own value. Let's say you went with actual value, so $2175. That's $65.25, so let's round that to $100. $6275 Now that it's cleared customs (you filthy liar!) and you've paid your import fees, you're ready to receive the container, so you hire Joe's trucking to bring it to you. Let's call that an extra $500. $6775 Joe brings the container himself, and leaves it for a day while you offload it. Let's say that's a $100 fee. $6875. Now you and your goons offload the container of all the parts, bring them back into your garage/shop/camping tent/dumpster, and start assembling. Let's say you need $125 worth of stuff to get the car back together and running. $7000 Now let's add in some magical fairytale bribes along the way, along with some extra hidden costs for $3k. Now markup $2k and you're at $12k. Hey rad! We're ready to sell. Now to find a sucker who's willing to buy a grey market car they can't register legally (except in Canada) and can't insure without lying about it. As you can see, I took the most expensive route in every way I could and I STILL had to make up $3k worth of bullshit fees. There are shipping companies that will ship entire cars to the US for $1500. There's some flubbing to be done, for sure but it's way cheaper. You could also get a 40' container for less cost per square foot, and ship 2 cars plus a few hundred cubic feet of room to throw parts in. That route would run you ~$5-6k or so, but then you get 2 cars across, and a bunch of parts to sell. I could probably get an R32 to the states for $3k after all is said and done, and since I'm not going to buy an expensive one here, My all-in cost will be <$5k. Yay for $7k profit. I was playing nice and didn't want to ruin your chance for a sale, but you decided to be a dick and threw it in my face with your 'superior knowledge'. You want to kick sand in my face, I'll drop a dumptruck's worth on you. Good luck selling that $2k car here now.
