rebuilt 300zx calipers from auto store?

anyone ever got a rebuilt set of 300zx calipers from pep boys or anything? seems safer than buying a rusted set of who knows whats inside calipers. i dont wanna have a bad part for something as important as braking.

yep do that and you can pick which ones you want. i chose 30mm aluminum from oreilly's. i had to special order mine, no biggie. it was way worth it b/c you have fully rebuilt calipers with warranty. on mine i have lifetime warranty

how much did you pay? what about the rotors, should i try to catch a decent OEM pair? i used to work at pep boys and i think their rotors will work ok but any input is appreciated. also maybe ebay? for something slotted if the auto store doesnt have them?

Man with all the pimpled face HS Kids at Pep Boys, you shouldnt have to know anyone to swap them out. Just toss some bricks or dirt in there. They didnt even check when I swapped mine out. W/ core the price is $120 cheaper I believe. I think iirc its $60 per caliper core.

I got mine at AutoZone and have had no issues with mine. As a note, though, they did not come loaded and I ended up buying shims and pads which should be factored into the purchase price. The calipers were pretty cheap though after the core was refunded.

Forgot to mention, the ones from Pep Boys DO NOT come with the e clip for the top of the caliper(s).

Last time I tried at AutoZone, they had none and couldnt get any.

If you are talking about the clips and hardware, I had to get everything through a dealer (Courtesy Parts is who I used).

i got mine from autozone. the ppl there were stupid enough they accepted my stock s14 front as a core plus 50bucks. i ended up buying new pins, shims and rubber seals for the calipers. it turned out great and one of hte best mods.
