How much for 300whp 9K rpm RB20DET?

Out of shear curiousity, how much would you say including a rebuild and engine/tranny a 300whp RB20DET that can hit 9000 rpm would total to? Assuming everything was done in house.

Its not that it will make power that high but its that tingly feeling in the gut knowing it is there. Theres something about the sound and look of an rb sitting in an s-chassis. Yes, the ka and sr and even ca are capable of 300whp without a federal budget but they arent as satisfying as an rb. The rb25 would be better suited for this but cost twice as much as a 20. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my KA but it just dont make me want to giggle like a school girl when I look at it or listen to it. I'm still gonna have my dd KA but I'd like something different for a change on the weekends.

just get an rb25 and call it a day.. it will hit 300whp without a build.. you dont need to go to 9krpm and it will make plenty of power.. be reliable and pretty stock.. for that tingly feeling at 9K i suggest a buzzing bee honda but then again they dont go anywhere ;-)

300hp and 9K rpms don't go hand and hand.. if you are only making 300hp most likely the power is going to fall off way before 9K rpms..

DUDE..... Fuck honduh powa. I will not associate with a honduh except when I'm passing one. You meen to tell me when you hear a high revving rb your just like :ghey: w.e. 9k is just for shits and giggles. Knowing I could mash the throttle and bounce it off 9k a few times w/o it getting cancer and barfing out a rod would make me grin everytime I thought about it.

Just build your KA and make 400whp with ease and call it a day... revving to 9k is pointless without completely building your head.. then youll have to find a turbo thats efficient up to that level and that will mean youll make over 300whp because anything that can only make around 300whp will not like 9k rpm. that probably didnt make much sense but if you really want 9k go by an s2000 and get all gigly with the whopping 25ft lbs of tq it makes

S2000 is for fags. 240hp and 130lbs of torque. pffhh. the ka makes more torque than that stock. I'm picking up a ka w/ tranny and less 100k for 300 in a week or so. I'm in the process of getting all the goodies. Yeah my ka's first. I plan on making about 230-250 to the wheels but i need something that would be a perfect weekend beast. I'm sourcing for an rb swap as well. If I come across a 25 and the price is right I will def snatch it up. But for now the plans to do a 20. What about a rb24? i know its a 20 with an rb26 head and crank or some shit like that. That would be EXTREMELY FREAKING BADASS.

the point i was trying to make there is no need to go up to 9k, just like everyone else stated...no i dont think my rb 8K rev limit is "ghey" at all it sounds quite nice actually and i'm happy where its at ;-)

If im understanding correctly by the looks of it ur a nissan RICERRRR seriously dude, can u even afford a RB? and im not trying to talk shit on a RB20 but personally if ur gonna go with that motor might as well go with a SR or KA-t ... i personally own a SR and a ka and been in a RB20 ... so im not just talking out of my ass .... yes a RB20 could be fast but then again so can a single cam honda civic with the right parts and the right $$$$$$ ...... but then again speed/reliabilitie is gonna coast anyone a fine shinny $dime$ ...... so if u dont want to be like everyone and get a SR then do it right and get a Rb25 do it right ! and rev up to 9k miss shift and mess up the head or something ........ oh and i can assure u, u will get 300whp on a stock rb25 im sure just the reg. bolt ons maybe a lil more boost than stok and u will hit + or - 300

Efficiently revving a motor 2K over it's redline takes a very balanced bottom end, valvetrain, cams, and the perfect match of a turbo...

I know you are dreaming of the sound of an RB revving like a racecar but it's going to be out of your price range and skill... Why don't you experiment with KAs first and learn what happens at high RPM?... Ineffiency, piston slap, oiling problems, cooling problems, and harmonics are all things you should start to understand...

Umm..theres a reason locals ditch their RB20 for SR20s...Almost all cefiro's and R32 GTS-T ive seen here dont even run RB20s, If they still got an RB20 in them, theyre in the junk yard.

300hp on a RB20 is feasible, just the 9k rpm is fucking pointless. Youre gonna rebuild the engine to hald 9k rpm and your gonna waste it on 300 hp??? Also, you can interchange RB25/26 internals into it to bump the displacement up to a 24. Then again, thats alot of money for 300hp, will probably cost just as much as an RB25 swap.

Like I said the RB is ALL about the sound and rpms. If the rb26 could only rev to 7k safely like a built ka do you think it would have got the title of godzilla? Thats what separates it from the 2jzgte. While the 2jz makes more torque the rb26 is screaming by with its larger power band. Yes a 250hp ka will be very very fast but if its making full boost at 3300 and only carries it to 6-6200 with agressive cams then thats only 2700-2900rpms of fun. Lets say the rb20 makes full boost at 4k and carries it to 7900(roughly) with agressive cams and same power then its going to pull on the ka for another 1000-1200rpm in each gear whos gonna win? Revability is the ONLY advantage a small displacement engine has on larger one if truth be told.

Uh dude, 2JZ > RB26.

Learn something about power band. You sound like a Honda driver if you think high rpm limit is something to brag about. I'd rather have an engine tuned to make peak power at 2.5k rpm with a 6k limiter rather than some lawnmower shit you have to spin past 6k to get moving. The less you have to rev to make power, the better.

I'm sure you wouldn't go sky diving w/o planning your landing area, jump height, calculating wind, weather, packing your parachute and not just assuming its there? Planning is what its all about. I know you haven't bought some random pistons and rings without planning on whether or not they were compatible?

Out of shear curiousity, how much would you say including a rebuild and engine/tranny a 300whp RB20DET that can hit 9000 rpm would total to? Assuming everything was done in house.
