Sooooooo.

I've been getting bored.

I was wondeirng if there were any cool racing games (like Gran Turismo and such) on PC.

Something free, preferably not online (in cause my internet sucks), etc.

live for speed is probably the best racing sim I've played for PC that has a free demo but's still fun.

GTR2

there are a few torrents out there of the game... one is a simple copy paste and play version.

Its a grip game and doesnt put a whole lot of strain on your computer.

if you have dial up it will take you a day to get it (small file size)

I vote for LFS its really fun and easy and you can drift in it, GTR2 is awesome too so I say LFS wins because you can get it for free and still do lots of things in it.

GTR2 was quick on my old pc setup which was geared at being decent back in 2005. If you laptop is older than 2004 that might explain it...

My $300 Compaq (with EVERYTHING) works great with LFS...

I just now need to learn how to drift in LFS...and the setup.

I can't drift worth shit and i'm gettin angry.

LFS played great on my desktop

If you really get into it you can search for lfs forums and people post up their grip/drift setups that you can download onto teh game.

Oh yeah and make sure you are using mouse to steer not keyboard.

Same here! I played for about 2 hours and couldn't get the hang of it to save my life...

nissan real car racing simulator, has an s15 on there and i always tried drifting and changing the suspension setup so compensate but could never really do it, still fun though even for a demo

GTR 2 is the best I've came by

than the obvious Need for Speed games sure they aren't very realistic but there dam fun.

edit: as I see other comments I will state GTR 2 is most likely more graphic intensive it really depends on your computers video card.

yeah use the keyboard for gearshift and viewchange thats it. You need to be able to steer fast with the mouse, left click gas, right click brake.

LFS with the hack is wayy fun. u can change everything the car has. u can have a rb26 boosting 44psi if you'd like. or v12 with 44psi, tires sizes basically everything can be changed

same here... when I try to connect it : trys to but doesnt....and comes up with the message:

"program was unable to connect to master server"

edit: yes I realize this is an old ass thread....i got a logitech g25 today and want to play lfs2...anyone know how to crack it?? I spent enough on this wheel and planned to download all the games for it lol
