Hey guys I got some prices on my motor swap. I know I am getting a good deal on my motor, but the guys is looking at having my car for about 2 weeks and he said he will make sure my AC works he wants $1500. Good price? I think its too much but I am not for sure. Can someone who has already done a swap tell me. PLEASE

$1500 might be slightly high, cuz i have friends that had swaps done for $800-$1200(max), but then they didnt have a Nissan so Im not too sure. If I wuz u, then I would check around a lil more first.

The price is fair assuming the job is complete the way you wanted. The prices around town in California ranges anywhere from $1200 to $1500 depending on what is needed to be done (swap, wiring, custom piping, a/c wiring, headgasket change, valve spring change, etc.).

Tx.

We do the install for $1000 here in Kansas. That would be the way top end of the price spectrum and I would expect a very good swap for that price. I guess the main question would be how experianced are they at installing SR's into 240's? What is the shops name and where is it? I, or someone else on here, may be able to tell you about them....

The shop is Okinawa Import Motorsports in Indianapolis. I have been talking to brian and from what I know is that he was in Japan for about 15 years and working at a Nissan dealership as a Mech. He has now opened up a shop and can get some really good deals on SR20DET motors. The guy knows what he is talking about. I guess the real reason I posted; was so someone could say something like "man you should tell him this so you can get a better deal" but I am safe with him so I am not going to press my luck. So thanks for everyone's help. I am going to pay it. There is no one else out there that is giving me all the stuff I want out of the swap i.e. AC working, Dyno after the swap..making sure it will run like O.E.M. I can't really go wrong with that.

Sounds like a fair deal to me.

If your 240sx is an 89-90 and he is modifying the p/s lines, then it’s that much better of a deal.

Well Louis. . looks like u guys win the bid!! I'd rather drive my shit to KC instead of the 65 miles to Indy to have my swap done, but the prices they have engines for is nice. .

I'm gonna go check his shop out ASAP when I get some time. . But to be honest. . ####. . would be nice to have a place right here do it, but I dunno those guys =)

Actually we (Boost Dynamics) give all the same except for the dyno after the install part. I also lived in Mainland Japan for 4 years and have the same ability to make a SR install OEM. Not trying to put you off going there just pointing out that there are other place that offer the same service. And cheaper at that.. LOL I believe Brian was in Okinawa for 9 years and was a Nissan mech stateside. Again just putting it out there for others. When is your install?
