I wasn't sure where i should post this, but anyway. Does anyone have pics of the stock alloy 240 rims powder coated black.. I'm thinking of picking up a cheap pair and getting them done in black..

How much is powder coating and does anyone know where i can get it down in NY, around the 5 boros area.

You'll spend about as much on the powdercoating as you will on the wheels (~$200). &nbsp;I've been debating this stuff myself. &nbsp;I'd recommend just saving the money and paint them yourself on a weekend. &nbsp;Just clean them up real good, prime them, paint them, and clearcoat them. &nbsp; Some paints let you skip the primer...get that if you can (self-etching).

Anyway, that's my thoughts.

Eric

I plan on cleaning my rims with simple green and spray painting them with engine enamel......once I get my car back. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Here is a pic of someone who has done the same thing:

this thread is so OLD

anyways...I can slightly remember what that owner did...

-Clean rims

-Mask tires (with painter's tape)

-Use 'Cast Finsh' engine enamel for a base/primer...use light coats (around 5)

-Use light coats of BLACK wheel paint or BBQ paint

I never got around to doing mine ....damn woman
